About

I'm the guy on the rightI'm the guy on the rightWho am I? I created the quick-and-dirty Drupaljob.com as a small contribution to the Drupal community. Hopefully, it will assist Drupal-Help-Seekers in locating quality Drupal Experts. Sometimes Drupal newbie’s are (understandably) hesitant on posting commercially related help-wanted ad’s on the main Drupal.org site (I’ve seen many not-too-bright flames and comments - even when I announced this site), so here’s a place where you can freely post, in a un-moderated, uninhibited fashion. It’s also obviously a Drupal-Specific job site, not a general-purpose freelancer site, that tend to attract bids from unrelated software generalists. The site is not intended for use by headhunters or spammers. I will check the content periodically.

Who am I? Well, I didn’t invent the Internet, but some of my friends and colleagues did. So who’s in the photo? It was taken in Silicon Valley, in 1994. I’m the (smiling) guy on the right, but you probably have a better chance of recognizing the tall kid next to me. He became much richer and more famous than me (don’t worry, I did OK). Hint, my black shirt logo reads Mosaic Communications (worth something on EBay?).

What else? I’ve been online since 1984. In 1989 I wrote and published the first Internet email client for DOS 3.3, in 1994 I created one of the first (ecommerce) websites (Lynx text browser compatible), in 1995 I launched the first commercial Linux appliance in the USA. Prior to all that, I was hacking the ATT Unix kernel, SCO Xenix 286, BSD Unix, and more. In 1999, I pretty much retired (reading, selling stuff online, and making cocktails). I am still based in California and Australia, but I get around.

I hope you find this site useful. Feedback and wish lists are appreciated-- please try (very hard) to maintain posts and comments to a high and intelligent standard.

Yours truly,

The drupaljob.com guy
