Vivakos, Inc., the leading integrator of open source and open standards based Web applications, is seeking talented and motivated developers with 2+ years experience.

As a Developer, you will design and implement Web applications for our customers, typically involving content management and web portal platforms. In addition, Developers may also serve in a product development capacity building marketable, integrated, packaged best-of-breed open source applications. Developers will be responsible for the planning, designing, coding, testing, and support of Web-based business applications. Candidates must be able to work autonomously and in team environments.

We are looking to fill multiple positions with extensive experience coding in PHP. Java experience is a major plus, as is exposure to the Alfresco platform.

Technical Skills:

* Experience coding web applications in PHP.
* Experience with Drupal, including module and theme development.
* Experience installing, configuring, and customizing (developing against the API) Alfresco is a huge plus.
* Willingness to apply coding knowledge to work in new programming languages.
* Working knowledge of an object-oriented programming languages is a big plus.
* Must feel comfortable using various target Operating Systems such as Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
* A demonstrated understanding of various aspects of SQL.
* Database experience with one or more of the following is a plus: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.

Other Skills:

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
* Fluency in English is required (both oral and written).
* Ability to work as both a team member and independently.
* Ability to write technical papers, reports, client deliverables, and other reports.
* Ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent project tasks.
* Willingness to learn and apply new software development tools, technologies, and methodologies.

We prefer to hire someone who can physically be in our Alexandria, VA location on a full-time basis. However, we may consider telecommuters as an option with potential to travel to customer locations (US) as well as our home office outside of Washington, DC. We may also consider a temporary contract hire with fully-dedicated time (40+ hours per week) toward our projects.
