New York City design and event company seeks a seasoned PHP / Drupal Developer to fill an ongoing freelance role of 15-30 hours per week. Candidate must show significant proficiency with LAMP technology and Drupal CMS. Working in-house with our web-team will be required a majority of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A demonstrated ability to implement end-to-end custom Drupal sites
- Strong familiarity with Drupal 4.7 and 5.x
- Experience with MySQL
- Hands-on knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, DHTML, AJAX, and XML
- Knowledge of developing cross platform/browser compatibility in all A-Grade Browsers
- Adherence to web standards and object-oriented programming
- Ability to work on-site in our SoHo offices.
- Flash experience a plus but not required.

Role Description
- Very strong exposure to technology/language environments under LAMP (PHP 4/5, Apache, MySQL, Linux)
- More than 10 years of experience overall with at least 3-4 years managing software product teams preferably medium to large teams (more than 10 people)
- Very good Project Management skills
- Very good understanding of various development methodologies/processes preferably agile
- Strong design and development (programming) skills
- Exposure to Databases and good understanding of performance and scalability related aspects
Operational:
- Should have managed at least 2 end-to-end release lifecycles of medium to large scale products
Soft Skills:
- Very good experience with creating requirement and functional specifications such as PRD – Mandatory

Other:
- Prior on-site Experience: Preferable
- Relevant Exposure: Experience working with startups and bigger organizations would tremendously help

This would be an ongoing engagement, to begin with, roughly 40 hours per month increasing to perhaps 80 hours per month by year end.

The current site uses Drupal 6.3 with a modified "Deco" theme (http://drupal.org/project/deco) in place. Your role will include consultation with client, information architect, and designer to lead to an agreed upon, solid specification for the next duration of development, which will most likely include:

-Adapting finalized design (still in development with clients and info architect) to Drupal theme, Deco or otherwise,
-Resolving issues with integration of modules based on expected user interaction with site, including helping client understand Drupal best-practices and capabilities.

The current Deco theme has had some modifications which may have to be carried over to another theme; the previous developer can give specific details.

Ongoing responsibilities will also include:
-Maintenance of Drupal site, including core and module updates.
-Some basic system administration of CentOS VPS system.
