Position Title
• User Interface Designer.

Position Summary
• The User Interface Designer will be part of a multi-product line team and will have direct responsibility for ensuring high usability, efficiency, effectiveness and scalability for web-based applications and portals. The position reports to the VP, Products.
• The User Interface Designer will perform a variety of tasks including analyzing, designing, prototyping and evaluating user interfaces, interactions, task flows, information architectures, and data visualizations.
• The User Interface Designer will interact with several internal departments: product management, engineering, marketing, sales and business development.

Scope of Responsibilities
• Information architecture and design for user interface and human-computer interaction.
o Navigation design, multimedia design, content and data presentation, wireframes, web structure design, screen layout, titling and labeling.
• Usability engineering, research, design and testing.
o Cognitive walkthroughs, paper and html prototypes and focus group interviewing.
• Graphic communication.
o Screen / page layout, user interactions, data visualization (tables or graphs), typography, icons, forms, reports design.
• Research and analysis.
o Business and user requirements, competitive analysis, content, user interaction, navigation, user profiles / personas, use cases, task flows and data visualization.
• Cognitive psychology and human factors.
o Perception, attention, cognition, interaction, navigation, learning, memory, habituation and adoption.
• Functional and user requirements.
o Use cases, user scenarios, user profiles, usability engineering, quality assurance and testing plans.

Qualifications
• The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of prior experience in a User Interface Designer or User Experience Architect role for an online media organization with a minimum of 3 years overall relevant experience in the online industry.
• A degree in digital media or equivalent is preferred.

Required Certifications
• None.

Required Skills
• Online media or online advertising industry experience.
• Experienced in information architecture, user interface design and usability and web design using Flash, HTML, CSS as well as software such as Dreamweaver, Visio, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Content Management Systems, Drupal preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills particularly as they relate to presentations, requirements writing, and team dynamics.
• Effective project management and organizational skills.
• Quick learner and good judgment.
• Ability to work independently in a team environment.
• Understanding of the necessity to meet stringent time deadlines.
• Must have demonstrated a strong track record of success.
